I think that turkey, and ground turkey, can play a role in a diet geared towards the Healthiest Way of Eating for many people. Ground turkey is a versatile food that can be used in a variety of recipes including turkey burgers, turkey meatballs, turkey meatloaf, and chili. I would just suggest reading the label and ensuring that there are no additives and preservatives included in the package. If there are, you may want to seek out another brand and/or find a food market whose meat section offers ground turkey. The cut of meat used in the production of ground turkey can also be important. Ground turkey breast will give you a form of turkey with the least total fat and saturated fat, and for those reasons, it’s the form I recommend. Remember that certified organic ground turkey is your best bet for avoiding unwanted contaminants and additives.
